Bruce Leon for Kids
Bruce is a proud fifth-generation Chicagoan, father of four daughters, and grandfather of six. He is a small business owner and a philanthropist with many years of experience on both private and public boards.
As a product of public schools, Bruce believes our school board needs leaders who are independent from City Hall. This independence allows them to effectively advocate for our families and students.
As a parent and grandparent, Bruce understands the challenges Chicago families face. He knows it’s vital to have a school system that puts students first, no matter their zip code.
Bruce is running for the Chicago School Board District 2 because he believes our schools need leaders who can deliver real results for our children, support our classrooms, and be accountable to taxpayers.
Bruce believes all children deserve schools that give them the chance to learn, grow, and succeed.
Endorsed By the Chicago Tribune:
“…the best choice by far is Bruce Leon, 62, founder of human-resources firm Tandem HR and Democratic committeeman for the 50th Ward. He is a supporter of selective-enrollment schools, understands that school consolidation must be on the table in solving CPS’ massive fiscal problems and is a supporter of keeping Martinez as CPS CEO.”
Leon would be a fiercely independent voice on the Chicago Board of Education — one with badly needed financial acumen to boot.
